Health Care

Though not under a formal department or ad-hoc committee, CCI also address health care issues in conjunction with the Illinois Catholic Health Association.

• Protect the right of religious conscience for faith-based providers and oppose efforts to mandate or encourage services that are contrary to Church teachings.
• Support expansion of health care coverage for low-income uninsured individuals and families.
• Advocate for just reimbursement payments under the state’s Medicaid program for hospitals and nursing homes.
