Ecumenical & Interreligious Affairs

Ms. Marilou Gervacio is the CCI staffperson for the Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs Department.

Priorities

The Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs Department has established the following priorities:

• Encourage study of national and international initiatives toward unity among Christians and harmony among world religions.
• Coordinate ecumenical efforts with the Illinois Conference of Churches (ICC) and diocesan ecumenical offices, and participate in the programs of the ICC.
• Collaborate ecumenically and interreligiously on public policy issues wherever possible.
• Promote the worldwide observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (January 18-25) in collaboration with the six dioceses.
