Departments
The Catholic Conference of Illinois has the following departments:
Catholics for Life
Defense of Marriage
Education
Social Services
Each department meets on a quarterly basis and elects a chairperson who is responsible for reporting to the Board of Directors at their semi-annual meeting. Each department establishes a set of Priorities.
Catholic Social Teaching
The Catholic Church’s teachings and traditions are the principles that guide CCI’s Department Priorities. Catholic Social Teaching includes the following major principles and values:

- Protection of Human Life and Rights and Meeting Corresponding Responsibilities
- Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers
